hypertension

Higher blood pressure than expected for a child's age, sex and height.

hypotonia

Hypotonia is characterized by decreased muscle tone. Infants with hypotonia seem floppy and have been described as feeling like a "rag doll."

immune response

The complex group of organs and cells that defend the body against infection and disease.

immune system

The complex system in our body that is responsible for distinguishing us from everything foreign to us, and for protecting us against infectious and other foreign substances.

An inability of the immune system to work properly, causing an increased susceptibility to disease. Immunodeficiency is either congenital or acquired.
