bacteria

Single cell microorganisms that can live as either independent organisms or as parasites in another organisms.

A tumor that does not spread to invade surrounding tissues or spread to other parts of the body. This is not cancer.

bone marrow transplant

A BMT is a treatment for certain types of cancers. It involves killing the cancerous cells inside a person's body with high doses of chemotherapy and radiation therapy followed by an infusion of healthy bone marrow cells in order to help healthy cells grow. BMTs can be autologous which is the infusion of the patient's own bone maroow or allogeneic which is the infusion of someone else's bone marrow that is genetically similar.

A heart beat that is slower than normal for someone's age.
